Your teeth are anchored into their sockets by a series of periodontal ligaments. The brackets, wires, bands and spacers of your braces are secured to your teeth to apply tension to these periodontal ligaments. This is done through a series of routine adjustment appointments with our orthodontist.

Each adjustment moves your teeth a minute degree closer to their ideal positions. This tension is progressive, so if you miss a scheduled appointment, it will likely increase the total amount of time it takes to effectively realign your teeth.

At the same time, it’s not uncommon for a spacer to fall out shortly before you’re due for your next adjustment. When this happens, you should call William B. Hentosz, DDS, INC to alert us. We might simply recommend scheduling an earlier adjustment appointment.

Each adjustment session also includes an examination of your braces hardware. Sometimes a band or spacer might need to be replaced due to regular wear and tear. If you’ve noticed a problem with your braces, you should alert our orthodontist, Dr. William B. Hentosz, so we can give it special attention.

If you are due or overdue for your next adjustment session in Alhambra, California, we urge you not to delay calling our William B. Hentosz, DDS, INC team at 626-458-8898 to schedule an appointment. Our goal is to keep you on track for your smile alignment process!
